(44) Bowyers back-up on Bridgo’s bike

January 28, 2013

A quick update on the bike situation – a massive thank you for all of your kind comments and words of encouragement and support.  We haven’t felt alone for a second even though we are so far from home.

No news of Winston and thanks to the kindness and generousity of the Bowyer family at home in Devon, we will soon have a replacement bike on its way to Khartoum. Andrew donated most of his bike, Julian drove to Devon from Bristol especially to build it up for Tim and David and Tina have arranged to have it sent out to us.

We’d also like to thank Yousif and Huda for their support and help in dealing with the police and providing a home from home for us. We’d also like to thank our current hosts Simon and Amanda and their 2 boys who have been a great distraction – we have learned a new game ‘sticky glue’ which is great fun!

All being well, the bike should be with us by the weekend and we hope to get on the road soon after.
