(6) Last few weeks
The last few weeks have been great catching up with friends. Tim went walking on the coast path on Exmoor with Andy trying out the bivy and tarp style of camping which was great fun even with the rain driving in one end , it was great to get away and chillout after all the planning .
After our weekend away we both managed to catch up with lots of friends and family and eat lots of cake. We also managed to fit in some jabs and kit buying. Tim spent literally hours researching our kit so we have the most suitable stuff for our trip. We are confident we have packed everything we need and if you saw how full our panniers are you’d think the same! We have left space for food – Sara who is joining us for the first few weeks has packed lots of goodies : ) we also have a couple at kites for those long border crossings.
We also managed to cycle with our friend Mike for a few hours on Monday who is currently cycling Land’s End to John O’Groats for the Samaritans. He is an absolute star and is looking a lot fitter than us! Look up Merton Mick on WordPress. Good luck Mike.
We fly to Oslo tomorrow morning, then get an internal flight to Alta – we’ll be wearing as many clothes as possible in order to stay under our weight limit…. once in Alta we’re getting a bus to a place we can’t pronounce, let alone spell, and then either will cycle the short distance to the start at Nordkapp or hop on a bus before heading South and starting our trip – arghhhhhhh
Right we’re going to sign off now – one last night of English food and a comfy bed. Norway here we come!
