(3) 4 weeks to go….

May 5, 2012

We can’t believe there’s only four weeks to go-

The training is going well….Sharon and nephew Jonathan eating her sister’s amazing, yummy cakes

We’ve had all of our jabs- there was quite a long list. Regarding anti-malarials, we are trying out Larium; we only need to take one tablet a week which is great for us on the move -it’s also cheap.  The side effects are bad moods and irritability. We’ll try it for 3 weeks and if all’s well and we’re still speaking to each other we’ll use them. We’ve been advised to take them between Sudan and Botswana so need about 8 months worth which we’ll carry with us.

Tim is off bravely facing the weather on Exmoor (on foot this time).

You can take homeopathic remedies for malaria prevention and they don’t have side effects. They are called China from what I recall. I took them in Africa and didn’t get Malaria but then i wasn’t there for 8 months.

I week to go now, how are the preparations going? Weather looks a bit cooler than here and somewhat damper/snowy!
